That this watch is special does not need to be explicitly „special“. And to describe it as merely flashy doesn’t even come close to doing it justice. The TAMBOUR CARPE DIEM has the vanitas character. The touch of the ephemeral. For many, this seems a little morbid, but the charm of this watch is only really visible in the functions in addition to the design.
For the first time, LOUIS VUITTON presented this year’s watch highlights at the international trade fair of the jewellery and watch industry WATCHES & WONDERS.
TAMBOUR CARPE DIEM
The dazzling baroque watch is the LOUIS VUITTON highlight of the W&W fair in Geneva. It combines top-class watchmaking calibre with a subversive vanitas motif. More than two years went into the development process before the watch was included in the house’s collections. With this virtuoso timepiece, Louis Vuitton is writing a new chapter in the history of Jacquemart watches. The 18k rose gold case closes around a mechanical manufacture movement with a 100-hour power reserve. A serpentine button on the side reveals the view of the time with light pressure. The watch strap is made in black alligator leather.
